"The old adage says, "People are who they are," but I'm sure no one disagrees that we're all capable of change. Do you think the "change" we hope for in individual character traits from our lovers is in fact change or instead just a tweaking of those traits? To put it another way, do you think a person can make a complete 180 or do you think it's more of a 120? If its a 180, how long is a reasonable time to wait for your mate to reach that point?"

I’m an optimist and I do believe that people can change. When it comes to matters of the heart I think that acceptance is important. If you can’t accept someone for who they are then it is possible that they aren’t the person for you. I wouldn’t recommend waiting on someone to change. You never know how long their change or journey will take and in the meantime you’ll miss out on someone else. In the case that you don’t want to be with someone else, you owe it to yourself to at least find out if that is in fact true.
